County Tourism Partners with NYS and ParksByNature Network’s Mobile Initiative

OSWEGO – Oswego County Tourism is now a proud partner in New York State’s venture with the ParksByNature Network’s mobile apps platform.

As a supporting partner of the official New York Fishing, Hunting & Wildlife Pocket Ranger mobile app as well as the Pocket Ranger New York State Parks app, Oswego County Tourism’s fishing, snowmobile and birding Web pages will now be instantly available to users who download the free apps New York and Pocket Ranger have released.

“Oswego County is proud to join New York State in their new mobile initiative with the ParksByNature Network,” said David Turner, director of Oswego County Community Development, Tourism and Planning. “As a supporting partner, we will now have enhanced opportunities to share with the world our vast inventory of natural resources as well as the businesses and facilities that make it possible for our visitors to fully enjoy those amenities while they are here.”

These Pocket Ranger mobile apps, created by ParksByNature Network are free and available for iPhone, Android and Kindle and are categorized by several topics, some of which include ‘Watchable Wildlife,’ ‘Fishing,’ ‘Hunting,’ ‘Nearest Me,’ ‘Parks,‘ ‘By Activity,’ ‘Buy a License,’ and more.

The apps offer advanced GPS mapping technology, which provides both novice and seasoned outdoorsmen and women valuable information for planning the perfect trip.

Users will also gain immediate access to species profiles, rules and regulations, and important permits and licensing details.
