CPR/AED for Child and Infant Class Offered

The American Red Cross will hold a CPR/AED for Child and Infant class on Thursday, December 9th, from 5:30p.m to 10:30p.m. The class will take place at the Oswego branch office located at 333 West First Street in Oswego. This is a great opportunity for people who are responsible for the oversight and care of children and infants; whether at work, within the family, or in a neighborhood setting.

Participants will learn how to recognize and respond to an emergency, when and how to move a child or infant from a dangerous scene, and how to check a conscious child or infant for life-threatening and non-life-threatening conditions. Skills and training such as: how to care for a child or infant who is choking, and being able to identify when and how to use an AED on a child will also be taught.

This class is a great opportunity to receive the training and skills necessary when handling both children and infants, as well as for gaining the confidence needed to act in an emergency situation.  If interested and would like more information, please contact the branch office at 343-0967 or visit the Red Cross on the web at www.redcrosscny.org.
