Â OSWEGO, NY (April 21) â€“ On Saturday, May 8th, the American Red Cross will hold a one day CPR for the Professional Rescuer class. It will be held at the Oswego Branch Office located at 333 West First Street, Oswego, NY. The class will run from 8:30am-5:00pm and is designed for the first responders who need to act quickly at the scene of an emergency.
Â Â Â Â This class will provide the skills needed to respond appropriately to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children, and infants until further medical help arrive on the scene. It will also teach participants to understand the Emergency Action Principles when providing emergency care for a victim, how to access the Emergency Medical System, and they will be trained in two-rescuer CPR, resuscitation, and the use of a bag-valve mask.
Â Â Â Â The course is directed towards those with a duty to act and provide care for people who need immediate help. The class teaches lifesaving training necessary to quickly help victims of emergency. Certification as a CPR/AED Professional Rescuer will be valid for two years.
