Crane School of Music Student Katrina Sheats Presents Premiere of New Operatic Work

POTSDAM, NY – Students at SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music will have the opportunity to premiere the three winning operatic works of the Domenic J. Pellicciotti Opera Composition Prize next week.

The student cast and crew will be able to meet the composers and librettists of the three winning works, “A Letter to East 11th Street,” “In a Mirror, Darkly,” and “The Fox and the Pomegranate.”

Performances are from Nov. 13 to 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater at The Crane School of Music.

The cast and crew includes Katrina Sheats of Pulaski, who is the understudy for the role of Elaine in the opera, “In A Mirror, Darkly.”

The Crane Opera Ensemble has twice been named the first place winner of the American Prize in Operatic Performance, and has placed second in the National Opera Association’s Collegiate Production Competition.
