OSWEGO, NY – Start your Spring off with some wearable art by you.
Lakeside Artisans, 191 W. First St., is offering classes in hand-painted silk scarves and in making scrap fabric tote bags.
Scrap fabric tote bags will meet with Lakeside Artisans’ Kathy Fenlon, on March 26 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Students will use scrap fabrics and learn a method called quilt as you go to complete a cute, useful tote bag.
Once they learn this skill, they could use it for many other small projects.
All supplies will be provided, but if students have left over cotton scraps of fabric, they can bring that but that is not necessary.
Students are encouraged to bring their own portable sewing machine if they have one, but if they do not have one, I will provide one for them.
On March 29, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Michele Southgate will demonstrate how to use the resist and dye to create a design for each student to decorate their own silk scarf.
All materials will be provided.
To register for a class, a non-refundable registration fee of $10 is required.
The deposit may be delivered to the store or mailed to Lakeside Artisans, 191 W. First St., Oswego NY 13126.
The total class fee is $45, which includes the registration fee.
