Crisis Management in the Age of Social Media To Be Presented at June WNET Meeting

OSWEGO – Steve Chirello, Steve Chirello Advertising, will show us what to do and what not to do on social media when dealing with a crisis at the next Women’s Network for Entrepreneurial Training’s (WNET) monthly breakfast meeting, June 9 at 8 a.m. at Operation Oswego County, 44 W. Bridge St.

We will learn the impact social media has on crisis communications and how to protect ourselves.

We will also discuss the importance of having a social media policy for your organization.

Chirello, owner of Steve Chirello Advertising, holds degrees in Journalism and English.

Prior to starting his own agency in 1996, he held positions in advertising and public relations for a variety of organizations.

He joined SUNY Oswego’s Communication Studies Department as an Adjunct Professor in 2015, where he has taught news writing and reporting, and a capstone class on branding and design.

The agency was named ‘Small Business of the Year’ in 2010 by the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce and is a full-service agency.

Through networking, presentations and information sharing, WNET provides professional development and personal growth for women in business.

The cost for each seminar is $15. Each seminar includes a light breakfast.
