The monthly classes are scheduled for October 17, November 7 and December 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the downtown Art Shop and Studio, 47 S. First St.

The October class will teach basic cake decorating techniques, making borders, writing, color transfer, flowers and more and then use all the techniques learned to decorate a Halloween cake.

November and December classes will build on techniques taught in the previous class and use those techniques to decorate Thanksgiving and Christmas themed cupcakes for take home.

All materials are provided and children as young as 7 are permitted when attending with an adult.

“These are very popular classes taught only once a year,” said Nancy Fox, executive director. “Diane brings a unique creativity to her decorating art and students will enjoy having original edible art to share with friends and family.”

Pre-registration is required for the classes that fill rapidly.
