The hallways of Granby Elementary School were bustling with excitement recently, as parents explored their child’s classroom and perused some of the projects that have been completed throughout the school year.
Students eagerly held their parent’s hand while walking the halls showcasing different class work.
Animal habitats, the human body, careers, mathematics and science were a few of the subjects that were in the spotlight during Curriculum Day.
“We are trying to promote community engagement with the curriculum,” Principal Heather Perry said. “It’s a great opportunity to get parents in the building and into the classrooms to see what the kids are doing.”
In addition to seeing projects spanning from first through sixth grades, parents also had a chance to listen to a musical performance by the kindergarten students.
Kindergartners sang several educational songs, such as “They Were the Pilgrims” and “The Number Song.”
