Cynthia Ackerman Cooper


Cynthia Ackerman Cooper of Stone Mountain, Ga. (formerly of Fulton) passed away in Atlanta on Tuesday February 11, 2014, after a long illness.

She leaves behind her loving and devoted husband, Franklin D. Cooper, of Stone Mountain; as well as three sisters, Ann (and Irwin) Avery of Newton, MA, Susan Roberts of Newton and Holly Ackerman of Durham, NC; her niece and nephews, Sonya, Lawrence, Andrew and Trevor.

Other survivors are her in-laws, Frank and Faye Cooper of Warner Robins, Ga., Malia and Tommy Veator, GA and Victoria Cooper, Ga.

Cindy attended G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton and Duke University in Durham, NC.

She had a quick mind and was an honors student in her academic endeavors.

She had a love of travel, cooking, sewing, needlework and gift giving to her family and friends.

Her kind and generous heart will be missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service was held on March 7 at the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead, Atlanta, Ga.

Burial services were private.
