OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego YMCA will hold a “Dancing in the Dark” Cosmic Zumba event on Friday from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. to raise funds for YMCA group exercise programs.
The event is open to the public and there is a suggested donation for participation.
Attendees are encouraged to wear white shirts to enhance the black light effect, and glow bracelets and necklaces will be provided.
For each donation, participants will be entered into a drawing for several items including Zumba wear and gear.
Child watch will be open, and guests can use while attending the event for a minimal fee.
“We are excited to offer this Zumba event to our members and the community,” said Trish Levine, director of health and wellness. “It will be a fun way to kick off to the weekend and welcome visitors to our Y.”
Participants need no prior Zumba experience and are encouraged to dress the decade and dress light to glow bright under the black lights.
Four of the Oswego YMCA Zumba instructors will be on hand to keep things moving along with music from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.
Julie Livesey, Brandy Koproski, Jade Esberg and Samantha Hooper will all lead throughout the evening.
There will be snacks and beverages provided and opportunities to win Zumba apparel and gear.
