Dante J. Maniccia, 83, a resident of 32 Montcalm St. Oswego, passed away June 7, 2008 at the Oswego Hospital.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Leonard and Maria (Campgiorno) Maniccia.
He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the Pacific Theatre.
He owned DanteÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s Atlantic Service station and DanteÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s liquor store and was employed with several car dealerships. He retired from Finnegan Nissan in Fulton.
He was a member of the D. A. Lodge where he served as past president and bingo chairman and member of the Hot Stove. He also sponsored, umpired and coached little league.
Dante was a Democratic Party committeeman.
Surviving are his loving wife of 59 Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â½ years, Phyllis T. (Conley) Maniccia, three daughters, Linda Rose of Saratoga; Nancy (James) Bourden of Oswego; Mary Cay (Dennis) Donovan of Oswego; a son, Dante J. Maniccia of Oswego; six grandchildren, Matthew Borden, David Borden, Emily Borden, Katie Donovan, Megan Donovan and Elizabeth Donovan; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Alfred, Rocco, Orlando ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…â€œMouseyÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚Â, Leo and Joseph Maniccia.
Funeral Services will be held 9:00a.m. Wednesday at St. MaryÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s Church. Burial will be in St. PeterÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held 4-7p.m. Tuesday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.
