David “Unkie” W. Crahan, 76

David “Unkie” W. Crahan, 76, of Minetto, passed away January 5, 2012 at University Hospital.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Irene (Gillen) Crahan.

David worked for many years as a salesman for Wine and Spirits in Syracuse and previously worked for Oswego County, assisting with job placement.

He was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was an avid hockey fan and favored the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Surviving are his son, David; his sister, Carolyn (Donald) Kunzwiler; step children, Mariabeth Hoebel, Lesa (Luke) Probst, Garr Owens, Mark Owens, and Clarice Quonce; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Michael Crahan.

Services will be held 10a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Church. Entombment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held 2-5p.m. Sunday, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St, Oswego.

    He was one of the great ones of Oswego. You couldn’t have known a nicer guy.

    I was deeply saddened to read of the recent loss of your Dad. I always looked forward to when you or he would come on in to the Ferris Wheel to take our orders, and just chat a while. Time moves too quickly.

    So for you I hope that your pain of loss be short, and your memories long.
