David E. “Coop” Cooper, 86, of Sterling passed away Tuesday at home.
Born in the town of Ira, he was a life resident of the Hannibal- Sterling area. Coop retired in 1986 after 20 years from Iron Workers Local 60, Syracuse. He was an Army-Air Force veteran serving during WWII.
Coop was a life member of the American Legion Prior – Stock Post #1552, Hannibal. Coop loved to play cards and enjoyed having weekly card games with his close friends. He was a family man who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving: his wife of 61 years, the former Clara Yarrow; two children, Dr. David (Liz) Cooper of Tall Timbers, Maryland and Joye (Pierre) Morrisseau of Fayetteville ; four grandchildren, Neal and Dr. Todd Cooper, Erin and Colin Morrisseau; two great-grandchildren, Sam and Isabella Cooper; a sister, Marinda Teater; several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours or services. Foster Funeral Home, Hannibal has charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
