OSWEGO, NY – Dennis P. Feeney, 59, a resident of Oswego and formerly of Washington D.C., passed away after a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer on Wednesday January 7, 2015, at Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, surrounded by his family.
Born in Oswego, he was a son of Alice (Cordean) Feeney of Oswego and the late Patrick C. Feeney.
He was a graduate of Fitzhugh Park Elementary School and Oswego Catholic High School, Class of 1973.
He was employed with the Washington Nationals and Alexandria Aces for many years and recently was employed with the Syracuse Chiefs.
Dennis was an avid sports fan and had attended many sporting events.
Surviving besides his mother are his brother, James (Caron) Feeney of Oswego; two nephews, James Feeney II of Pittsburgh Pa. and John Patrick Feeney of Oneida NY; a niece, Elizabeth Feeney of Oswego; aunts and uncles Carl and Eleanor Palmitesso of Oswego, Mary Jo and Ronald Jackson of Middleburg, Va., Charles and Mary Lu Feeney of Baldwinsville, NY, Dena C. Feeney of Washington, DC, Marita DeGraff of Whitehall, NY and Robert Welch of Troy, NY.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. from St. Mary’s Church.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Monday from 4-7 p.m.
