The Tour de Loop Bike Race sponsored by Rudy’s, Ontario Orchards, Ontario Metal Fabricators, Murdocks and the Onondaga Cycling club, Raby’s and Eagle Beverage. is schedule for Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 8:30 AM and is open to racers of any caliber, male or female age 15 and up.

The Tour de Loop starts and ends at Rudy’s Stand on Lake Ontario. There are two events, the expert of “A” race and the “B” or sport race. The “A” is a 50 mile event and the “B” is a 30 mile race. The “A” race is geared for Cat 4 riders or better, but if you want to ride you need to register by Friday, August 21st. Packet pick-up begins on Wednesday the 19th, after 9:00 am all packets can be picked up at the race site.

Both races cross from Oswego County into Cayuga County and loop back to end at Rudy’s with refreshments, it will conclude with an awards ceremony following the race.

This course, which originates on the shores of Lake Ontario features rolling hills and sharp turns as it winds its way across the scenic upstate countryside.

The Tour de Loop is a well attended race with an upwards of 200 racers a few years ago and we want the numbers to be the same this year. About100 volunteers are on the course to ensure the safety of all riders.

Anyone who is interested in participating in this event can log onto www.active.com or bikereg.com to register or get onto the Oswego YMCA’s website at www.oswegoymca.org where you can either use the links for both sites or just download the registration form.
