OSWEGO, NY – Donald C. Bower, 71, of Zephyrhills, Florida, formerly employed at Alcan Rolled Products and residing in Oswego, NY, passed away on Friday July 8, 2016, due to a reoccurring illness.
He was born, educated and lived in Oswego for more than 60 years.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Lois Bower; his two sons, Shane (Erin) of Columbia, Missouri, and Kevin (Elissa) of Syracuse, NY; daughter, Michele (Bower) Winter of Columbia, Missouri; and five grandchildren, Julia, William, Jack and Norah Bower and Andrew Winter.
He is also survived by a cousin, Kathy Flynn, who was like a sister to him.
Funeral services were held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on July 12 at 11 a.m. in Zephryhills with Father Eric Peters officiating.
A friend, Shirley Dube, provided the reading and son, Shane, offered the eulogy representing the family.
A luncheon was held following the memorial at Betmar prepared by Betmar friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations offered to the American Cancer Society or your local food pantry in his memory.
