Oswego – Donald L. Reid, 79, a resident of East 6th Street in Oswego, died Monday in Scriba.
Mr. Reid was born in Shirley, Massachusetts, the son of the late Elmer and Julia (Rivers) Reid. He had lived in Oswego for many years.
He was a veteran of the US Army for more than 20 years, and served his country during the Korean War. He was also stationed in Germany, Greenland, and many places in the US, during his service.
Mr. Reid was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed with the Fulton City School District.
He is survived by his former wife, Lois (Matthews) Reid of Oswego; three daughters, Gail (Douglas) Potter of Pulaski, Patricia Wyman of Oswego, and Susan Farley of Scriba; 2 sisters, Shirley Sanford and Katherine Ketcham , both of Oswego; 6 grandchildren, Douglas, Meredith, Julie, Richard, Jacob, and David; 8 great-grandchildren, Diego, Miley, Jaden, Caiden, Madison, Sierra, Nathan, and Christian; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private.
Calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 7:00pm Tuesday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego.
