FULTON, NY – Donald R. Brand, 81, of Fulton, died at St. Luke Health Services, Oswego, on Friday April 12, 2013.
He was born in Endicott, NY, and he has been a resident of Fulton for most of his life.
Mr. Brand was a United States veteran having served in the Army from 1952-1954.
He received the Army Occupation Medal and National Defense Service Medal.
Mr. Brand retired as a mechanic having worked with the Syracuse Police Department, Syracuse, for several years.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Norma Brand, in 1992.
Mr. Brand survived by his wife, Carol Brand of Jamesville, NY; six children: Kathy Hayden of Fulton, Karen M. Baker of Oswego, Donna J. Ingersoll of Fulton, Daniel R. Brand in North Carolina, John E. Brand in Fulton and Janine L. Brand in Florida; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday at Jacksonville Cemetery, Lysander, with Rev. David Nethercott officiating.
The Sugar Funeral Home, 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton, has care of the arrangements.
