Donna spent her childhood in Oswego and graduated from Oswego High School in 1960.

Following this she was employed at Snyder and Mackin in Oswego for several years, as a very conscientious bookkeeper in their accounting department.

Donna also worked at the Midway Drive-In Theatre in Minetto.

She had a strong desire to see all of the 50 states (eventually visiting 46).

In 1967, Donna started with a grand loop bus tour, offered by the Greyhound Co., which included parts of Canada.

After this sampling, at age 25, she set her dreams on Las Vegas and moved there a couple of years later.

Donna fully enjoyed the stars and glitter of show business.

Her favorite was Elvis and she attended at least 40 of his live performances; shaking hands with him once.

She was employed at the Horseshoe Casino for many years and made many friends.

Donna was very loving, with a special compassion for homeless people.

Donna was very grateful, as is her family, for the top-notch care she received from the doctors and nurses at Oswego Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her only brother-in-law, James E. Drips.

She is survived by siblings: John F. (Judith) Nagelschmidt V of Minetto, George T. Nagelschmidt and Joan L. Drips both of Oswego; nieces Heidi M. Nagelschmidt and April M. (John) Eckburg; nephews, John F. Nagelschmidt VI and Shane R. Drips; grandnieces, Tessa M. Eckburg and Emily E. Sohoski; grandnephews, Tyler A. and Scout R. Eckburg and Mitchell J. Nagelschmidt.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday Sept. 17 from 4-6 p.m. at Sugar and Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego, with a memorial service to follow.

No burial service is scheduled.

Instead of flowers, please contribute to the cancer research organization of your choice, thank you.
