Sponsored by the school and its parent-teacher club, the event offered a fresh donut, milk and juice to each attendee, as a way to promote family engagement and healthy relationships to help New Haven students grow.

Students also prepared special gifts for their guests, including paper ties, mugs with goodies, poems and other presents.

“Dad, close your eyes,” one student said as she prepared to present her father with a gift.
