    Dear Dr. Mather,
Please accept my sincere sympathy on this sad occasion of your son’s death. I is always hard to lose a son, but when the son is as extraordinary as Dr. Joseph it is even more difficult.

I didn’t know Joseph very well though he was at Catholic High for a couple of the years that I was there.

Be assured of my prayers for him and for your family. God is our hope and our consolation.

Sorry I cannot be with you tomorrow.

    Sincerely in Christ,
    Fr. Yennock

On behalf of the University of Notre Dame, Class of 1977, please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of Joseph, our ND77 friend and classmate. I am sorry that we were unaware of his passing until very recently. A candle will be lit at the Grotto at the University and a mass will be said by the priests there, in memory of Joseph. May the Angels lead him into Paradise, and may the God of all Consolation comfort and support all of his family during this most difficult time. Virginia McGowan Bishop, ND77 Class Secretary.
