FULTON, NY – Dr. Leigh A. Simpson Jr., formerly of Fulton, passed away Sunday May 5, 2013, at St. Camillus Health Center in Syracuse at the age of 91.
He was the son of the late Dr. Leigh A. Simpson and Marion Edgarton Simpson.
He attended Cornell University and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Dental School.
Dr. Simpson practiced dentistry in Fulton for more than 40 years and served as a dentist in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1947.
Leigh loved his family, his home, his community and his country.
He was active in many organizations and served in various capacities throughout his life.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Nancy Simpson Songer; his son, Leigh (Jody) Simpson; and grandson, David Songer.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Doris Norfolk Simpson of Baldwinsville; daughter, Marion Mauren (John) of Vienna, Va.; son-in-law, William Songer (Joann) of Liverpool; brother, Robert Simpson (Ann) of Canandaigua; grandchildren, Deirdre, Christine, Jennifer, Danny, Kate, Tim and Jon; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Nathan, David, Gavin and Griffin; nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
