OSWEGO, NY – At about 1:51 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 13), Tyler J. Maitland, 22, of 1049 CR 48, Richland, was arrested for fourth-degree criminal mischief and third-degree fleeing officer in motor vehicle, both class A misdemeanors.
The arrest stems from an incident that originated on Churchill Road in the town of Scriba.
Maitland was reportedly operating a 2014 Kia traveling at 78 mph in a 35 mph zone.
A deputy attempted a traffic stop.
The pursuit concluded at the intersection of State Route 3 and State Route 264 in the town of Palermo when the Kia collided with a 2010 Ford Explorer towing a trailer and being operated by James Schwartz, 68, of 43 Edgemere Drive, Rochester, deputies said.
Maitland was transported by ambulance to Oswego Hospital.
A passenger in his vehicle, Tristan Corriveau, 20, was transported by ambulance to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.
No details regarding their injuries were available.
Maitland was arraigned in Palermo Town Court and remanded to the Oswego County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
He is to return to Palermo Town Court on Oct. 24.
He was also being held on a parole warrant along with a felony warrant issued through Oswego County Court.
