OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego Speedway Eagles Fan Club is bringing back a pre-season chicken BBQ for 2016, to be held on Sunday, March 20, at Lighthouse Lanes in Oswego, helping to fund additional weekly driver awards for the coming year in the Novelis Supermodified and Pathfinder Bank SBS divisions.
The Eagles Fan Club is a volunteer, non-profit organization that was formed years ago by a group of fans at Oswego Speedway, with the sole intent and purpose of supporting the drivers and owners who compete at the ‘Steel Palace.’
Every penny raised by the Eagles Fan Club goes directly to the Supermodified and SBS car owners.
Annually, approximately $20,000 is handed over to race teams, distributed equally amongst teams based on attendance.
“The Eagles Fan Club is looking forward to a successful 2016 season,” said Eagles Fan Club President, Jamie LaRochelle. “This year we are looking to get a jump start before the season even begins and we would love to see everyone come out and support the cause, helping us to make 2016 a true success for our favorite drivers and owners.”
Any Oswego Speedway driver who is in attendance at the fundraiser will be automatically entered into a special drawing for a 3-day Budweiser International Classic Weekend pit pass valued at $125.
Other prizes and raffles will be available to all in attendance including 50/50 drawings, door prizes and lottery boards.
Fundraiser tickets are $10 which includes a chicken or pulled pork dinner, salt potatoes, beans or salad, and a roll.
All pre-sale dinners must be picked up on Sunday by 2 p.m.
Kids 16 and under will again be admitted free at all Speedway events in 2016 with the exception of Budweiser International Classic Weekend and Race of Champions Weekend.
On track activity beings at Oswego Speedway on May 7 with the annual open test session for all racing divisions. Testing will run from 1-5 p.m. on May 7 and is free for spectators to sit in the main grandstand.
Racing action at the Speedway begins on May 14 featuring the Speedway’s 66th consecutive opening night highlighted by the Race of Champions Modified Richie Evans Memorial 61 as well as kick-off events for the Novelis Supermodifieds and Pathfinder Bank SBS.
