Earl L. Powers, 87, of Fulton, died Tuesday at Loretto Heights Nursing Home in Oswego.
A native of Oswego, Mr. Powers lived most of his life in the Fulton area. He was a former owner of Powers Tire Service in Fulton from 1955 to 1974. After his retirement he worked part-time as a salesman at Wheel-A-Way Suzuki in Fulton. Mr. Powers was a World War II Army veteran with the 101st Airborne in the Battle of the Bulge. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Powers.
Surviving are: his wife, Jessie E. Powers of Fulton; a son, Terry (Kathy) L. Powers of Grays Lake, Illinois; a daughter, Carol (Dave) J. Bailey of Hannibal; a sister, Joan Leonard of Norwalk, California; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Bowens Corners United Methodist Church, 758 State Route 176, Fulton with burial at Jacksonville Cemetery, Lysander. Calling hours are 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton.
