Early Childhood Education Students Present Research Projects

Students in Melissa Nabinger’s Early Childhood Education class at Oswego County BOCES recently presented research projects to invited guests including OCB’s Deputy Superintendent Mark LaFountain (far right) and Director of Career and Technical Education Ron Camp (second from right). Students (left front to back) Ashley Giblin, Courtney Bartlett and Kaylea Morse explained to visitors their plan for a daycare center in the Hastings area. Each group researched the geographical area of their proposed center including existing daycare facilities in the area, census results, and the need for additional services based on population and other factors. They then provided a detailed proposal for their facility including target age group, furniture, equipment, and blueprint/floor plan taking into consideration safety, movement and existing day care regulations. For more information about the Early Childhood Education program at Oswego County BOCES, contact Camp at 315-963-4251 or visit their website at www.OswegoBOCES.org and click on the career and technical education tab.
