Edgar “Gubby” E. Dunsmoor, 78

Edgar “Gubby” E. Dunsmoor, 78, a resident of St. Lukes Apartments, Oswego, passed away May 5, 2011 at the Syracuse Veterans Hospital.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Orlia and Bernice (Bullock) Dunsmoor.

He was a US Army Veteran.

Gubby worked as a Farmer for most of his life. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and was a member of the AARP and the Church of the Resurrection.

Surviving are four sons, Edgar (Norma) Dunsmoor of Fulton; Michael (Robin) Dunsmoor of Oswego; Daniel (Ada) Dunsmoor of Fulton; David (Kim) Dunsmoor of Oswego; three sisters, Sena Stone, Norine Buske and Rose Pepper all of Scriba; Fred Dunsmoor of Hawaii; Jack Dunsmoor of Texas; Brian Dunsmoor of Central Square; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife Shirley (Holmes) Dunsmoor; two sons, Scott and George Dunsmoor and a daughter, Gertrude Gravlin.

Graveside Services will be held 12 Noon Monday at Oswego Town Rural Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held 2-5p.m. Saturday at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego, NY 13126.

  1. Gubby was my uncle and I don’t think I ever met a harder worker in my life . My thoughts and prayers are with Gubby , and all my cousins in this difficult time .
