Edward William “Bill” Gange

Edward William “Bill” Gange, 57, of Hannibal, died October 22, 2008.  He was born in Oswego and was a resident of Hannibal for the last 18 years.  Bill was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from the U.S. Army as a Master Sergeant on April 1, 1990, after 21 years of service.  He was a member and past commander of V.F.W. Post 5380, Hannibal and a member of the American Legion Prior Stock Post 1552, Hannibal.  Bill was an avid NASCAR fan.  He was predeceased by his father, William Edward Gange, who died in 1956 and by his mother, Pauline Boardway Gange   Gallagher, who died in 1969.

Bill is survived by his wife, Marcia VanPatten Gange; two daughters, Nicole Schumacher of Germany and Wendy Brim of San Antonio, TX; two sons, Steven Neith of San Antonio, TX and Joseph Neith of Hannibal; three sisters, Pauline Gange of San Angela, TX, Mary Ann (George) Ebert of Sterling and Betsy (Joe) Bachety of Baldwin, NY; two granddaughters, Tasha Rowe of Austin, TX and Kurstin Hammond of Hannibal; one grandson, Joseph Brim of Indiana; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Foster Funeral Home, Hannibal.  Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 837 Cayuga Street, Hannibal.  Contributions, in memory of Bill, may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons Street, P.O. Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057-0007.
