Several Volney Elementary School students were recently honored during a school assembly for putting forth their best effort and making great strides in their classroom.
The honorees received a Principal’s Award for being classroom role models for showing effort in class, while others received an “On-a-Roll” Award for improving academically and behaviorally.
Principal Todd Terpening encouraged all students to work hard throughout the last month of school so they, too, could be recognized during the June recognition ceremony.

The older students presented “Brother Rabbit and the Tar Baby,” an interactive story that involved Volney students answering questions about making the right choices.
The story was put together with the help of the Wisdom Thinkers Network.
