FULTON, NY – Eileen Mae Merkley Griffin, 35, of Baldwinsville, died unexpectedly on Monday, May 8, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.

She was born on June 12, 1981, to John and Vikki Merkley.

Eileen lived most of her life in Fulton.

In 1999, Eileen graduated from G. Ray Bodley High School and then went to Cayuga Community College and SUNY Oswego.

She worked for Travelers Insurance and Time Warner Cable.

In 2011, Eileen married Brian Griffin.

She enjoyed being with her husband, family and doting on her nephews.

Eileen was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Victor and Marjorie Cughan; paternal grandparents, Howard and Lillian Merkley; and uncle, Timothy Cughan.

She will be greatly missed and forever loved by her husband, Brian Griffin; parents, John and Vikki Merkley; one brother, Eric (Amanda) Merkley; two nephews, Kegan and Koen Merkley; one niece, Morgan Miller; aunt, Ann Cughan; mother-in-law, Donna (Tony) Vesta; father-in-law, Craig (Stacy) Griffin; sister-in-law, Kristin Miller; best friend, Kate Zarichny; and her two sons, Trent and Toby; as well as several extended family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 12, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.

A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m.

    So very sorry for your loss John and Vikki, I remember Eileen from school, she was a very sweet and lovely young girl.

    I am so sorry for your loss. I have worked with Eileen for the last year and a half and I will truly miss her. I always looked at her as my workplace mom. She always made a fuss over me and I loved every moment of it. I am so truly sad that I won’t have her to talk to and see pictures of her beloved nephews. It was always nice to know that she was looking out for me. Now she will be looking out for all of us as our guardian angle.

    She will always be loved and missed! She was a pleasure to work with and the memory of her joy will live on through myself and tons of others she has come into contact with! Sorry for your loss and I send love because I know how special she was!

    Vikki and John so sorry for your loss we will miss Eileen remember all the good times when I babysat. for you and mom did too will say a prayer for you all good memories she will be missed another one gone on the old block!!!We love you all!!
