Eleanor K. Lachut, 84; of Volney, NY died Tuesday at Oswego Hospital.

She was born to the late Myron and Gertrude (Malone) McCann. She has remained a lifetime resident of the Fulton/Volney area. Mrs. Lachut retired from Sealright, Co., after 39 years of employment. She then worked as a caregiver to family and friends.

She was a past member of the Lakeview Lanes Bowling Leagues. She was an avid bell collector and quilt maker. Mrs. Lachut enjoyed square dancing, canning, and shopping year round for Christmas gifts.

Mrs. Lachut was pre-deceased by her longtime companion Gordon Woodard, her son Joseph P. Lachut and 7 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her son Myron J. (Stacey) Lachut of Fulton, 2 siblings: Brindsley McCann of Volney, Gertrude Craw of Palermo, 4 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and 3 step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 9:30 AM Saturday in Holy Trinity Church, Fulton where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will be held in Fairdale Cemetery, Hannibal, NY. Calling hours will be conducted 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S. Fulton.

  1. My prayers and condolences to all of the family in the passing of Eleanor. I knew her since I was a child, she worked with my parents at Sealright and I also bowled with her. She was a great lady and will be missed…May she rest in peace.
