FULTON, NY – Eleanor L. Terpening, 95, of Fulton, passed away on Thursday October 8, 2015, after a brief illness.
She was the daughter of the late, Curtis and Mabel Cooper and lived in the Sterling area before moving to Fulton.
Eleanor had worked at Nestle Company, Fulton, for a period of time and as a waitress at Dick’s Donut Shop in Fulton and Top of the Hill Diner in Volney.
She enjoyed spending her winter months in Zephyrhills, Fla., for many years.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Terpening, in 1989; brothers, Clarence and Donald Cooper; sister, Louise Dunsmoor; and by her son-in-law, Donald Smith, on September 13, 2015.
Surviving are her children, Larry (Barbara) Terpening and Judy Smith all of Fulton; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Blake, Maureen (Jamie) Tetro, Todd (Jennifer) Terpening, Jill (Sam) Cali, Allyson (Gary) Becker, Ryan (Michelle) Terpening and Rick (Lauri) Smith; 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Curtis (Shirley) Cooper; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.
Services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, at the funeral home with burial at Ira Union (White) Cemetery in the town of Ira immediately following.
