OSWEGO, NY – Elizabeth Jane (LaGoe) Liz Pierce, 80, a resident of 75 E. Ninth St., Oswego, passed away Sunday April 18, 2010, at Oswego Hospital surrounded by her family.
Elizabeth was born Sept. 10, 1929, in Oswego and was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary Ruth (Schaffer) LaGoe.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a Democratic Party committee woman and former Palermo town assessor and long-time Palermo resident.
Mrs. Pierce is survived by her husband, Dr. Richard F. Pierce of Oswego; her three children, John J. (Jamie Taylor) Wilson of Oswego Town, Cecil C. Wilson III of Forrestport and Lois (John) Totterdale of Scriba; her stepchildren, Karen (William) Hansen of Syracuse, Steven (Mary) Pierce of Oswego, Jan (Laurie) Pierce of Palermo, Thomas (Bonnie) Pierce of Marthaâ€™s Vineyard, Mass., Eric Pierce of Indianapolis, Ind., James (Patsy) Pierce of Wolf Mountain, Pa.; her grandchildren, Thomas Griffin, Margaret Pfeifer, Laurie Cornejo, Lisa Wilson Farling, Jason Wilson, Jamie Carter, Brandy Baker, Ryan Wilson, Cecil M. Wilson IV, Jessica Wilson, Stephanie Golein, Justin Totterdale Michelle Krupitza, Brian, Ryan, Taylor and Hayley Pierce; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday 9:30 a.m. from the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. in St. Paulâ€™s Church.
Entombment will be in All Saints Mausoleum, St. Peterâ€™s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
