Elks Help Feed Local Elementary Children On Weekends


OSWEGO, NY – Members of the Elks #271 in Oswego gathered recently with members of Blessings in a Backpack to present a check.

Elk Charlotte Sereno presented Melissa Russell, program coordinator of Blessings in a Backpack in Oswego, a check for $2,000 to feed local elementary children.

The cost to feed 250 students for the 2015-2016 school year will be $20,000.

Blessings in a Backpack is a national organization which helps feed children that may have little or no food on the weekend.

This national program is funded strictly through donations from individuals, businesses, organizations, and grants.

Donations are greatly appreciated.
