OSWEGO  – The Oswego Music Hall continues the Guest Curator Series — which enables new programs proposed and curated by community members, representing demographics and artistic genre not typical in Music Hall programming.

Feng E is a young musical sensation (born in 2007) from Taiwan. His claim to fame began in 2018 at the very young age of 10 when his video went viral playing Tommy Emmanuel’s arrangement of Mason Williams Classical Gas with a ukulele in the park in Taipei. He later ended up playing live with Tommy himself in both Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Owing to the viral video, Feng E was invited to The Ellen DeGeneres Show to play for a worldwide audience. He has since been on Ellen’s show twice (2018 and 2019), and each video has 2.3 million views. In 2020, Feng E made it to the quarter-finals of America’s Got Talent. His highest social media demographic location is the United States.

Feng E has become a star in the world of ukulele music, performing and winning competitions around the world, in places like Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, China, and Hawaii. On Asia’s Got Talent (2017), he was the only competitor to get the Golden Buzzer from producer David Foster.

To date, Feng E has mastered five musical instruments, starting with the piano at the age of four. He also has numerous compositions to his name.

His notoriety continues to skyrocket through his various ukulele covers of popular music with over 768K YouTube subscribers and multi-millions of views. His expert renditions and his straight-forward “can do” attitude has turned the heads and stolen the hearts of some of the biggest stars in the world.

He currently has 768k YouTube subscribers, 175k Instagram followers, 108k followers on Facebook. View the video of Feng E, age 15, performing with Tommy Emmanuel at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTBaqEeAU5A[1].

The show, curated by Mark Wahl, is scheduled for Tuesday, October 7 at 7:30 pm (doors open at 7) at the Oswego Music Hall (inside the McCrobie Civic Center at 41 Lake St.). Tickets ($17 – $20; college/high school students with school ID $10) are on sale now at https://www.oswegomusichall.org/[2], or at the rivers end Bookstore, 19 W. Bridge St., Oswego, although you may be able to get tickets at the door if it is not sold out. The community is encouraged to buy tickets early to ensure a seat. Tickets at the door and refreshments are purchased with cash or check only.

The wheelchair accessible venue is located in the McCrobie Civic Center, on 41 Lake Street in Oswego. It is adjacent to Breitbeck Park and overlooks Lake Ontario and the Oswego Harbor. The atmosphere is intimate with candle-lit tables surrounding a small stage. Light refreshments will be available at reasonable prices.

Oswego Music Hall is a family-friendly, non-profit organization that has been run entirely by volunteers since its inception in 1977. Volunteers can earn admission to shows through various tasks — from event support to making popcorn. Students can also earn credit for community service.
