Theatre Du Jour Announces Cast For Steel Magnolias – Set To Tour Central New York

OSWEGO – Concerned with a group of gossipy southern ladies in a small-town beauty parlor, Steel Magnolias is alternately hilarious and touching and, in the end, deeply revealing of the strength and purposefulness which underlies the antic banter of its characters.

Presented in dinner theatre format, this dramatic comedy by Robert Harling will be offered as a play reading with a multi media twist at three exclusive venues across CNY.

The production will feature bonified local hair dressers, estheticians, a live DJ and even some karaoke to keep the hot Louisiana party going.

Director Moe Harrington has crafted the perfect cast for this poignant play turned movie classic.

“It’s like unwrapping a present on Christmas… they are just that good,” he said.

Joining the tour are Rita Worlock, Lilli Komurek, Beverly Brinster Murtha, Clare Lopez, Sherri Metz and Anne Fitzgerald.

Steel Magnolias opens on August 3 at The Eis House in Mexico and continues with stops at GS Steamers in Oswego (August 11) and The Barnes Hiscock Mansion in Syracuse (August 15).
