Curator of the Erie Canal Museum, The Nature of Mules
May 21 @ 7:00 pm
Ashley Maready, Curator of the Erie Canal Museum, explain the nature of mules and their part in canal history and history in general, on Monday, May 21, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the Schroeppel Historical Society building, corner of Main and Volney Streets in Phoenix. This program is highly relevant to Phoenix history because the Pendergast family of Phoenix raised horses and mules for the World Wars I and II, as well as for canal boat owners. Displays commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Barge Canal, including census lists of canal workers will be available for perusal. The program is free and open to the public. Donations are gratefully accepted. Schroeppel Historical Society.
