OSWEGO – The public is invited to join the Buc Boosters Saturday, July 9, at the Oswego Speedway to help save the school district’s sports programs.
Even with the recent, generous donation from Senator Patty Ritchie, our sports programs are still facing a huge deficit, organizers said. In order to provide a variety of opportunities for our children we must all work together.
Speedway owners John and Eric Torrese have offered their venue for the Buc Boosters to fundraise during this Saturday’s King of Wings races.
Students will join the Buc mascot to say the Pledge of Allegiance at 6 p.m. and there will be a variety of basket raffles available as well as clambake tickets for sale.
An opportunity to purchase a chance to win a two-seater ride around the Oswego Speedway is also available.
All raffles will be drawn before the feature race.
Donations may be made at the Buc Booster tables the day of the event.
The clambake will take place at Colloca Estates on August 13 from 1-6 p.m.
The purchase of a $100 ticket includes food, wine, beer, live music and an auction.
Those who are not able to come out to the Speedway can still help.
There has been a Go Fund Me page set up (Oswego BUCS – Because U Care) where you can donate to a specific sport or to the general sports fund.
And, you can return your bottles and cans for ‘Save Oswego Sports’ at any of the six Great Lakes Redemption locations.
Be sure to visit the Buc Boosters Facebook page for more upcoming events and fundraisers.
