F-M Names Oswego’s Sugar Next Director Of Physical Education And Athletics

OSWEGO, NY – According to a press release from the Fayetteville-Manlius School District, the F-M Board of Education has approved hiring Scott Sugar as the school district’s director of physical education and athletics, effective July 1.

Sugar is currently the director of physical education and athletics for the Oswego City School District.

“It was an extremely difficult decision but a decision that I thought will be very beneficial both professionally and personally,” he told Oswego County Today.

F-M’s current director of physical education and athletics, Rich Roy, will retire as of July 1 after 22 years with F-M.

“I want to thank the members of the interview committee, most importantly, Dr. Kaiser and Mr. Gordon, for selecting me for this position,” Sugar said. “I am truly honored for being chosen to be the next director of physical education and athletics for the Fayetteville-Manlius School District. I look forward to meeting and working with all the students, coaches, faculty and staff, administrators, parents and community members of this great district. Go Hornets!”

Sugar currently lives in Oswego with his wife and two young children. They plan to relocate to the F-M district.

  1. Congrats to Mr. Sugar. But why can’t the OCSD keep really smart, professional, class-act administrators like Mr. Sugar or Mrs. Bonnie Finnerty, the previous middle school principal?
