OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego High School will be hosting a hands-on workshop February 5 to provide high school seniors planning to attend college, and their parents the opportunity to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid on-line.
Financial Aid experts Kathy Flaherty and Beth Flanigan, from the State University of New York College at Oswego Financial Aid Department, will be available with their many years of experience working in financial aid at community colleges, and state and private four-year colleges, to assist in the Oswego High School Anthony J. Murabito Media Center, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Oswego High School Counselor Marilee Taylor said, “Parents and students each need their own PIN number, so be sure and get them ahead of time at www.pin.ed.gov. You also need to bring with you the student and parents’ social security numbers, the student driver’s license (if they have one), parents’ tax records, student tax records (if they’ve filed or plan to file a tax return), and records of untaxed income in your family such as child support, Social Security, welfare benefits, or veterans benefits.”
