HANNIBAL – An annual tradition continued at Fairley Elementary School recently, as students and the school community united to raise money for the Golisano Children’s Hospital.

On a designated day each year, Hannibal students wear their pajamas to school as a fundraiser and to raise awareness of childhood cancer.

“Paige’s Pajamarama,” named in honor of a Baldwinsville girl who passed away after being diagnosed with cancer, provides financial support for pediatric cancer research, family and survivor assistance funds, a memorial endowment fund and a family fun fund.

The extended Fairley family turned out in support once again this year, raising $1,005.

According to physical education teacher Lynn Halliwell, the generosity of students, teachers and families was heartwarming.

“Everyone has been so supportive and we are thankful for the donations,” Halliwell said. “It is wonderful to see the Hannibal community come together for this once again.”
