Fast Cash Challenge Continues Saturday Night at Oswego Speedway

OSWEGO, NY – Oswego Speedway’s 2014 Fast Cash Challenge continues on Saturday night with the first ISMA Supermodified event of the season at the ‘Steel Palace.’

Announced in May, the Speedway has posted $2,500 in bonus money to the drivers with the fastest lap times of the season in ISMA Supermodified, Novelis Supermodified, and Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super competition at the Speedway.

Laps will be tabulated all year long in time trials as well as heat and feature racing action on the MyLaps scoring system with the fastest overall time in the ISMA Supermodified and Novelis Supermodified ranks receiving a $1,000 bonus and the fastest time in the Small Block Super division receiving a $500 bonus.

With the Speedway’s rain out on May 3, Saturday will mark the first attempt for ISMA Supermodified drivers to lay claim to their $1,000 Fast Cash Challenge bonus prize.

Bob Bond currently holds the fastest lap in Novelis Supermodified competition with a lap of 16.098 seconds, a brand new non-wing track record, set in Speedway time trials on May 10 as a part of the 53rd annual Novelis Supermodified Kickoff.  Bond became the first non-wing Supermodified driver to record an official lap below the 16.2 second mark.

Also setting a new track record on May 10, Jack Patrick is the current leader of the Fast Cash Challenge in the Small Block Super division with a lap of 18.596 seconds, shattering the previous track record of 19.081 seconds held by Brian Sobus.

The current overall track record at Oswego Speedway is held by Dave Shullick Jr. with a lap of 14.972 seconds in his Bodnar built No. 94 winged Supermodified.

The ISMA Supermodified season kicks-off on Saturday at Oswego Speedway presented by Shea Concrete and North Country Home Builders.

Grandstand gates will open at 3 p.m. on June 7 with ISMA time trials set for 5 p.m. and racing at 6:30 p.m.

Once again in 2014, kids 16 and under will be admitted free of charge with a paid adult with active military also admitted free with I.D.
