NEW HAVEN – The First Congregational Church UCC of New Haven will observe its 200th anniversary this year, having been founded on June 30, 1817.
Four years later, the congregation built the present church which is regarded as the oldest standing church building in Oswego County.
The church has decided to commemorate the anniversary with a harvest weekend celebration beginning the evening of September 16.
This event will commence with a meet and greet reception that will feature a re-enactment of the founding of the church and guest speakers discussing the history of the church.
On September 17 the celebration will continue with a celebratory church service featuring guest pastors, special musical performances and good fellowship.
The event will conclude with a harvest banquet prepared by professional chef Erik Mosher.
Friends and members of the church are invited to attend all of the events.
