The Lura Sharp Elementary School auditorium was a sea of red, white and blue as some classes constructed their own versions of patriotic attire and others chose from their own “flag day” wardrobe.

Members of the American Legion Post 358 Color Guard, Dave Walker and Tom Brown, were on hand for the festivities.

Brown has attended every Flag Day Ceremony at the school for the past 39 years.

Student representatives from each grade level presented on the theme by sharing what it means to be good citizens.

They talked about honesty, compassion, respect, responsibility, and courage and how those attributes help make individuals into good citizens.
