Fly-In For Ultralights, Other Aircraft, Begins Today in Palermo

Submitted article

For over 11 years, Gary and Jean Gulliver have hosted what started out to be an ultralight fly-in for aircrafts that were less than 254 pounds in weight and carried no more than 5 gallons of gas and required no pilot license.

On July 21st through the 25th , the Gullivers will be hosting their 12th annual fly-in, that now includes Light Sports Aircraft, small general aviation planes, as well as the ultralight class of aircraft. Pilots from all over New York State, as well as from other places in the United States and Canada, gather together to show their airplanes and to have a chance to meet with the other pilots they have met from previous fly-ins.

There will be powered parachutes, powered paragliders, trikes, fixed wings, gyros and more on display. Pilots will be on hand to answer anyone questions about the particulars of their aircraft they fly. Ultra Flyers of CNY, the only club that is the CNY area that caters to the ultralights and Light Sports Aircraft, will be in attendance and helping with the event.

The Oswego Valley Modelaires will have a display and demonstration on different types of Radio Controller Airplanes.

Gulliver’s Wilderness Airpark 12th Annual Fly-in is held at 1222 Red School house Rd Fulton, in the Town of Palermo with free parking and free admission. Food and drinks will be available throughout the day.
