Four Arrests, Officer Injured Following Fulton Fight

FULTON, NY – At about 1:04 a.m. today (Oct. 16), Fulton Police responded to the area of South Sixth and Rochester streets for a report of several people fighting with a knife possibly involved.

Upon arrival, officers reported several people running from the area.

While attempting to gain control of one of the defendants, an officer deployed the TASER.

One Fulton Police officer did suffer a minor injury during the struggle.

The officer didn’t seek medical treatment for the injury.

The investigation revealed that defendant David Smith allegedly menaced several people with a steak knife during the fight.

The following people were charged as a result of the incident:

Gragory J. Bennett, 18, Rochester Street, Fulton: Obstruction Governmental Administration 2nd, Resisting Arrest

David R. Smith, 21, Emerson Avenue, Syracuse: Menacing 2nd, Criminal Possession of Weapon 3rd (class D felony)

Tiara J. Hobart, 20, Ontario Street, Fulton: Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd, Resisting Arrest

Kurt C. Decker, 20, Cayuga Street, Fulton: Disorderly Conduct (2 counts)

Bennett and Smith were arraigned by the Hon. Judge Hawthorne in Fulton City Court.

Smith was remanded to the Oswego County Public Safety Center in lieu of $1,500 cash/$3,000 bond.

Bennett was released on his own recognizance.

Hobart and Decker were released on appearance tickets, returnable on October 24.
