LIVERPOOL, NY – Four vehicles were involved in a chain reaction rear-end MVA, according to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident reportedly happened at Soule Road and Fairway Drive East shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Vehicle # 1 – 2004 Mercury SUV, operated by Heather Watkins (30), of North Syracuse was traveling west on Soule Road. Watkins failed to realize traffic was stopped and rear-ended Vehicle #2, which rear-ended vehicle # 3, which in turn rear-ended vehicle #4, deputies said.
Heather’s 7-year-old son, Gavin, was transported to Upstate University Hospital, Syracuse, for treatment of non life-threatening injuries, according to the report.
Vehicle # 2 – 2008 Mercury SUV, operated by Laurie Burns (57), of Oswego and passenger Donald Miller (60).
Burns was transported by NOVA ambulance with minor injuries to St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse; Miller was transported by Rural Metro with minor injuries to St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Vehicle # 3 – 1998 Audi, operated by Lola May Wight (21), of Liverpool and passenger Richard Conklin (27). Wight was transported by NOVA ambulance to Upstate University Hospital with minor injuries.
Vehicle # 4 – 2012 Toyota pickup, operated by John Manly (57), of Liverpool (was stopped waiting to make a left turn).
Watkins was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the 3rd degree, unlicensed operation of a Motor vehicle and following too close.
