OSWEGO, NY – Frances A. Ahart, 90, a former resident of 92 Sixth Ave., Oswego, passed away Thursday Aug. 19, 2010, at St. Luke Health Services.
Mrs. Ahart was born in Fulton, the daughter of the late Frank and Harriett (Geers) LaLonde.
She graduated in 1938, with honors, from Fulton High School.
Prior to retirement, she was employed as an office secretary with the Textile Workers Union of America in Fulton.
She had previously worked at Hunter Arms, and the Birds-Eye Corp. in Fulton.
Mrs. Ahart had a passion for the arts, and for her family.
She was a communicant of St. Maryâ€™s Church.
She was the wife of the late Leonard F. Ahart, who died in 2005.
She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn (John) LaPlante of Ocala, Fla.; four grandchildren, Kenneth Cook, Theresa Cook, James Cook and Richard Cook; nine great-grandchildren, Joseph, Amanda, Brian, Joanna, Morgan, Kevin, Tai, Erin and Ryan; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a grandson, Kevin Cook; and two sisters, Flora Pultz and Helen Peet.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Mount Adnah Cemetery, Fulton.
There will be no calling hours.
