Frederick L. Spink Jr.

OSWEGO, NY – Frederick L. Spink Jr., 91, a resident of Meadowbrook Manor passed away on Tuesday March 8, 2011, at Oswego Hospital.

Born in Scriba, he was the son of the late Frederick and Margaret (Palmer) Spink and had attended schools in Oswego and Fulton.

He was employed with the Sealright Corporation for 42 years and was also employed with the Spink’s Monument Shop.

Fred was a charter member and the first president of the Oneida Lake Antique Automobile Club of Syracuse.

He collected antique cars.

He enjoyed his music and was a life member of the Mount Pleasant Church.

Mr. Spink was a member of the Masons for 65 years.

Surviving are his son, Frederick (Karen) Spink III of Scriba; a grandson, John Spink of Liverpool; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth; and sisters, Florida, Virginia, Hope and Ruth.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. from the Mount Pleasant Church.

Spring burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Sunday from 4-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
