OSWEGO, NY – Fredrick T. Melfi, 62, a resident of the Tug Hill Road in Oswego Town, passed away Wednesday October 9, 2013, at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse.
Mr. Melfi was born in Oswego, the son of the late Vincent and Marie (Case) Melfi.
He was a life resident of the area and was a graduate of Hannibal High School.
He was employed at the Huhtamaki Corporation in Fulton for 17 years, and had formerly worked for the Oswego Castings Co.
He is survived by the love of his life and companion for the past 29 years, Crystal Van Horn of Oswego; a daughter, Sonya Melfi of Oswego; a step-son, Michael Van Horn of Fulton; two brothers, James Melfi and Mark (Alice) Melfi, both of Oswego; a grandson, Austin Pawlanko; two step-grandchildren, Allison and Savanna Van Horn; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rural Cemetery on Cemetery Road in the town of Oswego.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego.
